How is Momentum Learning Co. different from traditional tutoring programs?

Momentum Learning Co. offers structured literacy intervention, not short-term tutoring. Instead of fixed 10–12 week programs, instruction is continuous and individualized. Students move forward based on skill mastery and confidence—not a calendar date.

How long will my child need tutoring?

There is no set timeline. Some children may progress through targeted skills in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. Progress depends on each child’s starting point, learning pace, and consistency of attendance.

How many sessions per week does my child need?

Families select a weekly schedule based on their child’s needs:

  • 2 sessions per week for mild gaps or reinforcement
  • 3 sessions per week for moderate reading challenges
  • 4 sessions per week for intensive intervention
     

Session frequency can be adjusted as your child grows and gains confidence.

Why isn’t there a set “end date” for the program?

Reading skills build in layers. Stopping instruction too early can leave gaps that impact confidence and comprehension later. This model ensures your child progresses only when skills are secure and transferable.

How do you measure progress?

Progress is monitored through:

  • Skill mastery
  • Accuracy and fluency growth
  • Application of skills in connected reading
  • Increased confidence and independence
     

Parents receive regular updates highlighting growth and next steps.

Can my child start at any time?

Yes. Enrollment is ongoing, based on availability. Once enrolled, your child’s instruction continues without interruption as long as services are needed.

What happens if my child misses sessions?

Consistent attendance is critical for progress. Students are allowed a limited number of make-up sessions. Frequent absences may impact progress and could result in loss of a reserved spot if attendance becomes inconsistent.

What curriculum do you use?

Instruction is research-based and aligned with the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham principles, focusing on phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and confidence building.

How do parents stay informed?

Parents receive regular communication, including:

  • Weekly learning summaries
  • Skill focus updates
  • Celebrations and progress highlights
  • Ongoing recommendations
     

Parents are always welcome to ask questions or request additional clarification.
